Replacing the Traction Drive Belt on an Ariens Two Stage Snow Blower

The drive belt engages the traction drive system on the snow blower. If the belt becomes too worn and breaks, your snow blower will stop dead in its tracks.

Step 1:

Remove the ignition key

Step 2:

Remove the maintenance cover, pull off the choke knob and remove the screws

Step 3:

Remove the spark plug boot

Step 4:

Use socket wrench to remove the plug

Step 5:

Consult your owner’s manual to check the recommended gap for your new spark plug

Step 6:

Thread the spark plug by hand, then finish tightening with a spark plug wrench

Step 7:

Reconnect the spark plug wire

Step 8:

Replace the maintenance cover
