Keep your mower blades sharp to give your lawn a cleaner cut and to keep your lawn healthy. This video shows you how to safely remove and install a Snapper mower blade.
Recommended Tools: Socket wrench/torque wrench, safety gloves, blade lock tool or block of wood.
Step 1:
Disconnect the spark plug
Step 2:
Tip the mower on it's side, be sure the air filter and carburetor are facing up
Step 3:
Clamp the blade lock tool to the side of the mower deck, this will prevent the blade from rotating during removal
Step 4:
Loosen the blade bolt with a socket wrench, then remove the the bolt and the washer, before removing the blade take notice to how they are positioned, then remove the blade.
Step 5:
Insert the blade bolt into the new blade and attach it back onto the blade adapter
Step 6:
Once the bolt is threaded, tighten it with the socket wrench, or preferably a torque wrench (see owner's manual for suggested amount of torque), once tightened, remove the blade lock device
