Husqvarna Fast Tractor: How to Start the Engine
The Briggs & Stratton engine featured in Husqvarna Fast Tractors allows for very easy starting with its automatic choke system. The following instructions will allow you to start your tractor in both normal and cold weather conditions.
If you’re starting the engine for the first time or after it has run out of fuel, it will take longer than normal to get fuel to the engine. Make sure you don’t run the starter for more than 15 seconds per minute.
Pre-Startup
- Step 1: Make sure freewheel control is set to the transmission engaged position.
- Step 2: Sit on the operator’s seat. Depress the brake pedal and set the parking brake.
- Step 3: Set the attachment clutch control to “DISENGAGED”.
Normal Startup (Above 32°F)
- Step 1: Set the throttle control to fast (rabbit) and be sure that it clicks into place.
- Step 2: Put the key in the ignition and turn it clockwise to the “START” position. Once the engine starts, release the key.
- Step 3: If the engine shuts off, restart it and allow it to warm up for a few minutes before attempting to mow. Leave the throttle control in the fast position while mowing.
Cold Startup (Below 32°F)
- Step 1: Set the throttle control to the cold weather starting position (snowflake).
- Step 2: Put the key in the ignition and turn it clockwise to the “START” position. Once the engine starts, release the key.
- Step 3: After the engine has started, move the throttle control back to fast (rabbit) to allow it to warm up. The amount of time the engine needs to warm up depends on the temperature. While mowing, leave the throttle in the fast position.
