How to Start and Stop Your Honda HRX/HRR Lawn Mower

Almost all power equipment has slight differences regarding starting, stopping, maintenance, and overall operation. Being familiar with the details of your specific equipment will save you time and frustration.

Before starting, be sure that you're starting your equipment in a safe area where the blades can freely turn. Inspect the equipment for excessive damage and wear before operating it. Also, always wear proper protective clothing while operating the equipment.

Starting

  • Step 1: Turn the fuel valve until it is in the ON position.
  • Step 2: Pull the blade control lever back and press it against the handlebar.
  • Step 3: Begin pulling the starter grip slowly until you start to feel tension. As soon as you feel this, pull quickly. Then, gently return the grip.
  • Step 4: Keep holding the blade control lever against the handlebar. If you release it, the engine will stop.

Stopping

  • Step 1: Release the blade control lever from the handlebar and the engine will stop.
  • Step 2: Turn the fuel valve off when you are finished mowing.
  • Step 3: Clean and maintain your mower before preparing it for either short or long term storage.
