How to Replace the Blade on a Toro Recycler Self-Propelled Mower
Replacing the blades on your mower is a very important part of the routine maintenance that should be performed frequently.
You should check your blades as often as you can to be sure there is no damage and that they are still sharp!
Changing your blades is easy, here is how!
What You Will Need:
- Toro Walk Behind Mower
- New Blade
- Block of wood
- Socket Wrench/Wrench
- Torque Wrench
Removing the Blade:
Step 1:
Tip your mower onto the chute side (usually the right).
Step 2:
Use a block of wood to prevent the blades from spinning while you work.
Step 3:
Remove the bolt that is holding the blade onto the mower.
Step 4:
Remove the outer plate.
Step 5:
Remove the blade.
Installing the Blade:
Step 6:
Install the new blade with the curved ends pointing upwards.
Step 7:
Replace the outer plate.
Step 8:
Replace the bolt.
Step 9:
Torque the bolt (see owner’s manual for specific information).
Be sure to check your owner’s manual for information about the blades and a recommended maintenance schedule for your model of mower.
