How to Remove and Install the Deck on a Simplicity Broadmoor Lawn Tractor
Have you ever looked at your mower and scratched your head trying to figure out how to remove the deck?
It can be tricky, but sometimes it’s inevitable, you have to remove the deck for some types of maintenance.
Luckily for you, there will be no more head scratching or dreading removing the mower, because here is how to do it laid out step by step, I even tell you how to put it back!
What you will need:
- Simplicity Broadmoor Lawn Tractor
Removing The Mower Deck:
Step 1:
Park the tractor on a hard level surface.
Step 2:
Turn off the PTO.
Step 3:
Place the mower in the lowest cutting position.
Step 4:
Turn off the engine and remove the key.
Step 5:
Apply the parking brake.
Step 6:
Disconnect the cutting height mower wire harness plug.
Step 7:
Place the attachment lift in the down position.
Step 8:
Disconnect lift chain from lift hook on tractor, repeat on the other side.
Step 9:
Move idler arm to remove belt tension.
Step 10:
Remove the belt from the PTO pulley.
Step 11:
Turn the wheels so they are straight.
Step 12:
Pull back on the spring-loaded lever and lift the mower hitch off of the tractor hitch brackets.
Step 13:
Turn the wheels completely to the left.
Step 14:
Slide the mower deck out from under the right side of the tractor.
Installing he Mower Deck:
Step 1:
Park the tractor on a hard level surface.
Step 2:
Turn off the PTO.
Step 3:
Place the mower in the lowest cutting position.
Step 4:
Turn off the engine and remove the key.
Step 5:
Apply the parking brake.
Step 6:
Turn wheels completely to the left.
Step 7:
Place the mower lift lever in the down position.
Step 8:
Slide the mower deck under the right side of the tractor so that the mower hitch is aligned with the front tractor hitch.
Step 9:
Turn the wheels straight
Step 10:
Pull back on the spring loaded lever while lifting up on the mower hitch
Step 11:
Install mower hitch onto tractor hitch brackets.
Step 12:
Note: When properly installed, the spring-loaded lever should seat fully underneath the brackets.
Step 13:
Connect lift chain onto lift hood on tractor. Repeat on other side.
Step 14:
Move idler arm to remove belt tension.
Step 15:
Install belt onto the PTO pulley.
Step 16:
Reconnect the cutting height motor wire harness to the tractor harness.
