How to Refill the Trimmer Line on a Redmax Trimmer
If you have been blazing though trimmer line quickly, it may be time to replace it! Just in case you don’t know how to do this right off the top of your head, here are some steps to help you out!
Remember! Replacement line should be .095 in. (2.4mm). The spool is able to hold up to 20 feet on the 4” head. Avoid using a larger line as it may cut down the trimming performance.
To refill the trimmer line:
Step 1:
Pinch the slotted area on both sides of the spool housing to unlock the bottom cap
Step 2:
Take out the spool and pull off the old line. Fold the new line so that one half line is 4.7 in. shorter than the other half, and then hook the bended end into the slot of the spool.
Step 3:
Wind up the line in the correct direction as is indicated on the spool
Step 4:
Hook each end of the line in the slot on the edge of the spool, next put the ends through the eyelets on the housing, be sure that all that the spring and all of the washers are in their correct places
Step 5:
While holding the spool against the housing, pull on the line ends to release them from the slot
Step 6:
Line up the slot on the bottom cap with the hook on the housing, then press the cap against the housing until it clicks
