How to Install and Remove Attachments for the Honda VersAttach Trimmer
We all love the many different attachments that are available to be used with a Honda VersAttach. Cultivator, blower, trimmer, hedge trimmer, pruner, edger. How exactly do you go about properly installing and removing these attachments? This is an important question that is relevant to not only the durability of your shaft and attachments, but to your safety as well.
Taking the time to get to know your attachments will benefit you greatly. Remember to never run the engine without an attachment in place. Make sure that any attachments are properly and fully installed before running the engine.
See your owner’s manual for safety information and specific diagrams relating to your equipment.
Inspecting the Joint Connection Area
- Step 1: Find the pin knob and be sure that it has the ability to move smoothly.
- Step 2: Check the joint knob on the side for any damage or obstruction. If it does not tighten and loosen smoothly, there may be a defect. This could potentially hinder the proper installation of any attachments.
- Step 3: Check the holder itself for any damage or obstruction.
If all aspects of the joint area appear to be in good shape, you’re ready to install an attachment.
Installation
- Step 1: Move the pin knob to the lock position. Turn the joint knob to loosen it.
- Step 2: Find the triangle near the end of the attachment that you’re installing. Align it with the pin knob so that it is facing up and allows the attachment fit into the groove on the bottom.
- Step 3: Insert the attachment until you hear a click. The triangle on the end of the attachment should stop just before the entrance of the joint holder. Pull the joint holder and attachment slightly in opposite directions to be sure that they will not separate.
- Step 4: Once the attachment is in place and won’t come loose, tighten the knob on the side to lock in the attachment.
Uninstalling
- Step 1: Loosen the joint knob on the side.
- Step 2: Bring the pin knob up and twist it 90 degrees so that it is in the unlock position.
- Step 3: Pull the end of the pipe attached to the powerhead and the end of the attachment in opposite directions to detach.
- Step 4: Set the pin knob to the locked position so that it is ready to be stored or receive another attachment.
The proper installation and removal of your attachments will allow your equipment to last longer and maintain a high quality. For specifics and safety information, refer to your owner’s manual.
