How to Check and Change the Oil of Your Craftsman Front Wheel Drive Push Mower
To prevent unnecessary engine damage, it is important to maintain the proper quality and amount of oil in your engine. Doing so will ensure that your engine is properly lubricated and protected. Diligently maintaining your equipment will save you repair costs in the long run.
Before servicing any power equipment, follow the safety instructions laid out in your owner’s manual. Make sure the equipment is completely stopped, cooled down, and that no parts are moving before attempting to service your equipment.
- Step 1: Park your mower on a level surface.
- Step 2: Stop the engine.
- Step 3: Remove and clean the oil fill dipstick.
- Step 4: Insert and tighten the dipstick. Remove it again and inspect to get a reading of the oil level.
- Step 5: If the oil level is near or below the lower limit mark on the dipstick, remove the dipstick and refill with oil until the level reaches the upper limit mark. Be sure to not overfill.
- Step 6: Reinstall the oil fill dipstick/cap.
