How to Change the Oil in an Ariens Razor Walk Behind Mower
Changing your oil, sound like a chore? It’s really not! It’s a very simple and very important thing to do!
Did you know that running your mower with too little oil in the engine can lead to very serious problems?
It is critical that you keep up with the suggested maintenance schedule in your owner’s manual to ensure the longevity of your mower!
What you will need:
- Ariens Razor Walk Behind Mower
- Container
- Fresh Oil (see owner’s manual for what type of oil you should use)
- Cloth to wipe dipstick and clean up any mess!
Step 1:
Check your owner’s manual for information about what oil to use in your mower.
Step 2:
Place a container below the engine to catch oil, be sure that it is big enough to contain all of the oil.
Step 3:
Remove the filler cap/dipstick.
Step 4:
Remove drain bolt and sealing washer.
Step 5:
Allow the oil to drain completely.
Step 6:
Re-install the drain bolt and sealing washer, be sure it is securely tightened.
Step 7:
Be sure the engine is level and fill it and add oil, be sure you don’t over fill it.
Step 8:
Check the oil level, if it reads full on the dipstick replace the dipstick and you are good to go! If it is not quite at the full mark slowly add more oil and re-check the oil level, repeat as necessary.
See, a very easy process! And a great way to keep your engine running like new!
Helpful Hints:
- Drain used oil while the engine is warm, it will drain more quickly and completely.
- Your owner’s manual contains a schedule that will tell you exactly when you need to change your oil and what kind of oil to use.
