How to Attach and Use the Grass Catcher on Your Craftsman Front Wheel Drive Push Mower

Learn how to properly attach and use your grass catcher to efficiently rid your lawn of those pesky grass clippings. Follow the steps listed below to avoid damaging your equipment in the process.

Before servicing any power equipment, follow the safety instructions laid out in your owner’s manual. Make sure the equipment is completely stopped, cooled down, and that no parts are moving before attempting to service your equipment.

Attaching the Grass Catcher

  • Step 1: Make sure the bag is right side out.
  • Step 2: With the black plastic side of it at the bottom, put the bag over the frame.
  • Step 3: Pull the plastic channel of the bag over the hooks on the frame.
  • Step 4: Lift the rear discharge door.
  • Step 5: Slide the grass catcher into the handle brackets. Release the discharge door so that it sits on the grass catcher, holding it.

Using the Grass Catcher

  • Step 1: Grass clippings will be collected in the bag as you utilize the mower. Use the mower until the bag is completely full.
  • Step 2: Stop the engine and make sure the mower and blades have completely stopped moving.
  • Step 3: Lift up the discharge door.
  • Step 4: Pull the grass bag up and away from the mower to remove it.
  • Step 5: Empty the bag and dispose of the grass clippings.
  • Step 6: Reinstall the bag.
