Replacing the Skid Shoes on a Toro Two Stage Snow Blower

The skid shoes slide along the ground to protect the sides of the auger housing from damage. They also allow you to adjust the clearance between the scraper blade and the ground.

Step 1:

Remove ignition key

Step 2:

Lift the auger housing and support with a block of wood so that the skid shoes are off of the ground

Step 3:

Remove the skid shoe bolts

Step 4:

Install new skid shoe on auger housing by re-inserting the bolts

Step 5:

Before tightening the bolts, adjust the skid shoes to the desired height, and then tighten the bolts
