How to Change the Air Filter on an Ariens Razor Walk Behind Mower

Did you know that a dirty air filter will decrease the air flow to the carburetor which will then reduce engine performance? A dirty air filter is a serious problem!

Luckily it is a very simple process to clean it or replace it.

Step 1:

Press the latch tabs on the air cleaner cover and remove the filter.

Step 2:

Tap the air filter on a hard surface to remove dirt, or blow compressed air (no more than 30 psi) through the filter from the clean side (the side that faces the engine).

Step 3:

Tap the filter outer several times to remove dirt, if it is very dirty, replace the filter outer.

Step 4:

Wipe dirt from the air cleaner body and cover using a moist cloth.

Step 5:

Re-install all elements and replace cover.

It’s extremely easy to clean the air filter on your mower, so be sure that you check it frequently! Also, make sure you check your owner’s manual for model specific information and a recommended maintenance schedule to keep your mower running properly!
